About Us

Here at Ken F. Smith Custom Sheet Metal, we believe our customers deserve the highest level of quality craftsmanship, and that starts with our facility and staff. Our facility consists of a modern 20,000sqft shop equipped for custom, prototype, & production jobs. We have shearing, rolling, punching, forming, high-def plasma, and fiber laser equipment. Our shop is staffed with skilled fabricators and welders. Our experienced design team is equipped with CNC/CAM Programming and the latest in CAD software. Our team takes pride in providing superior quality in a timely manner, as well as great customer service.

Laser Cutting

Service

We provide in-house fiber laser cutting with no minimum quantity and fast turn-around times. We keep a huge array of materials in stock and ready to cut. Our design team is available to create part files from sketches or sample parts when a CAD file is not available. Fiber laser cutting has become popular in the metal industry due to it’s speed, efficiency, and tight tolerances. Laser cutting provides accurate cuts with minimal to no heat-affected zone. Our fiber laser enables us to cut intricate parts with odd shaped holes and features without the cost of special tooling. Fiber laser provides up to 5x faster cutting than CO2 on materials up to ¼” thick, while providing a lower operating cost than CO2 lasers. Fiber also has advantages over CO2 in cutting reflective materials such as aluminum, brass, and copper.
